Allied Pacific IPA joined Garfield Medical Center, and Los Angeles County Medical Association to kick off “STOP THE BLEED” training program.

On March 17th 2023, Allied Pacific IPA, Garfield Medical Center, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association held a press conference in Monterey Park, California to kick off “STOP THE BLEED” training program.

Distinguished guests Assemblymember Mike Fong, Monterey Park City Council member Yvonne Yiu, Alhambra Council Member Sasha Renée Pérez attended the event to demonstrate the collaborative effort between organizations and government agencies to prevent similar tragic incidents from happening again.

In their efforts to help the community after the tragic shooting in Monterey Park, CA back in January 2023, Allied Pacific IPA, Garfield Medical Center, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association worked together to fund an educational program “STOP THE BLEED” to teach the community bleeding control techniques and lifesaving skills for catastrophic events.

On September 27, 2022, Governor Gavin Newsom signed an Assembly Bill 2260 that required the installation of trauma bleeding control kits in newly constructed public and private buildings throughout the state.

Allied Pacific IPA, Garfield Medical Center, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association jointly funded this significant training program specifically in the application of direct pressure, packing the wound with bleeding control gauze, and applying a tourniquet.
